Valcore Tool Watches - Owner’s Manual and Operating Guide
Introduction:
Valcore Tool Watches are designed and built as tool watches — intended to be reliable, durable, and serviceable instruments for everyday use, field work, and demanding environments. Our watches are built to stand up to real use, but they are still precision mechanical instruments and must be operated and maintained properly to ensure long service life and reliable performance.
Please read this manual carefully to familiarize yourself with proper operation, care, and maintenance of your watch.
Operating Instructions:
Setting the Time
Unscrew the crown by turning it counterclockwise.
Pull the crown out to the 2nd position (two clicks). The second hand will stop.
Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands.
Push the crown back into the normal position.
Screw the crown down by pushing inward and turning clockwise until hand-tight.
Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down to maintain water resistance.
Setting the Date
Unscrew the crown by turning it counterclockwise.
Pull the crown to the 1st position (one click).
Rotate the crown clockwise to set the date.
Push the crown back into the normal position.
Screw the crown down until hand-tight.
Important: Do not change the date between 8:00 PM (20:00) and 4:00 AM (05:00), as this may damage the date mechanism.
Hacking the Second Hand
The second hand can be stopped to synchronize time precisely.
Pull the crown out to the 2nd position to stop the second hand.
Push the crown back into the normal position when ready to start the watch and synchronize time.
Screw the crown down until hand-tight.
Winding the Watch by Wearing
The watch winds automatically through the natural motion of your wrist while worn.
If the watch has stopped, manual winding is recommended before wearing.
Winding the Watch Manually
With the crown in the normal position:
Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 15–25 turns.
The watch will begin running.
The watch cannot be overwound.
Determining AM / PM (Midnight Position)
Pull the crown out to the 2nd position.
Rotate the hands forward until the date changes — this indicates 12:00 AM (midnight).
Continue rotating the hands to the correct time.
Push the crown back in and screw down.
Once AM/PM is established, you may set the date as needed.
Do not change the date between 8:00 PM and 4:00 AM.
Care and Operation:
Valcore Tool Watches are designed as tool watches and are built to withstand demanding everyday use. However, the watch is still a precision mechanical instrument and should be operated properly and cared for accordingly.
To maintain performance and water resistance:
Always screw the crown down fully
Do not operate the crown underwater
Avoid setting the date during restricted hours
Avoid strong magnetic fields
Avoid severe impacts
Rinse with fresh water after saltwater exposure
Have water resistance checked periodically if frequently exposed to water
Accuracy:
Mechanical watches are precision mechanical instruments and operate within mechanical accuracy tolerances influenced by real-world use and environment.
This watch line uses the Seiko NH35 automatic movement, which has a manufacturer stated accuracy tolerance of approximately −20 to +40 seconds per day under normal operating conditions. Many movements perform better than this range, but performance within the manufacturer’s stated tolerance is considered normal and is not considered a defect.
Accuracy may vary depending on how the watch is worn, how it is stored overnight, and the environment in which it is used.
Service Intervals:
Like any precision mechanical device, a mechanical watch requires periodic servicing to maintain performance and longevity.
Valcore recommends servicing every 5 to 6 years, though service intervals may vary depending on usage, environment, and operating conditions.
Service and Repairs:
If your watch requires service or repair:
Contact Valcore Tool Watches before sending the watch for service.
If service is performed by someone other than Valcore, the work must be completed by a Valcore-approved horologist or watchmaker.
Unauthorized service or improper repair work may void the warranty.
